1960S Terraced House Loft Conversion & Rear Extension
Project Location:
High Wycombe
Completed:
August 2021
Status:
Construction
The property is of terraced housing style and is situated in a good location in High Wycombe, near to Cressex Business Park. The brief from our client was to upgrade his house by expanding it in full width and 3.6m to the rear on the ground level.
This area will house a future spacious living room with better access to the back garden. In addition, a new dormer with full height doors framing a view is envisaged for the loft area to become a generous master bedroom with bathroom and eaves storage.
To uplift and sophisticate the new extensions in the setting of the original brick structure, the client considered zinc cladding to the dormer and charred wood. The project’s final design is less striking; the dormer is completed in vertical tiles to match the existing roof, blending its volume. The extension has a white acrylic render finish. Additional bespoke design elements here was a floating staircase leading all the way to the loft, bringing in light from the skylight above the void.
